Cravat Construction

Draft and construct your own 1860s silk cravat.
This is a very short course on drafting and constructing a silk 1860s cravat, as seen in many photos from the period. The entire course can be completed in a couple of hours and is great for the beginner and more advanced tailor needing to complete outfits. I recommend using scraps from other projects, but you could also get a yard or two and make a waistcoat from the rest. I’m recommending silk for the cravat as that’s all I’ve seen so far in photos and in originals, but it seems to me that linen and other lighter materials might have been used as well. If anyone has information on that please let me know.
