These were very popular from the gold rush era of the 1840s through to the Civil War period, and are perfect for labor, recreation like fishing and hunting, militia use, and more.

- 5 – 6 bone buttons
- ~ 1/8 yard brown polished cotton (optional)
- ~3 yards cotton muslin for fitting
- Quilting ruler
