Welcome to Constructing an Unlined Linen Frock Coat
In this project, James will teach you how to construct an unlined frock coat from linen, cotton, or other appropriate fabrics. This is a great project to start with if you are new to frock coats, as the construction is slightly simplified thanks to the absence of padding, canvas, and linings – and the fabric is usually more affordable!
You should have drafted the basic frock coat pattern from the Frock Drafting Class and have fitted at least the bodice portion. If possible, you should fit the frock coat while wearing an appropriate and fitted waistcoat, as it is what imparts a good deal of shape to the coat.
